MYSTIC GODDESS SIGILS TAROT
ABOUT THE CARDS
For the last 20+ years, I’ve worked with clients as a Tarot Reader, Mystic Shaman, Intuitive Guide, Empowerment Coach, and Energy Healer.

My sacred work has taken me all over the United States and internationally, for sacred offerings, ceremonies and studies - including Canada, Peru, Bolivia, and most recently in my motherland, the Philippines.

In February 2020, I spent a month travelling in the Philippines, learning about my ancestral heritage, and studying with powerful indigenous shamans and mystics. This is where the inspiration for creating the Mystic Goddess Sigils Tarot deck was born.

The cards are my own unique designs, and are inspired by my travels in the Philippines, my studies in Peru & Bolivia, and by my own reflection, life lessons, and experiences. The creation of this deck was also directly guided throughout the design process by my spirit allies and ancestors.

SIGILS & SYMBOLS
In these cards, I’ve incorporated sigils - which are commonly used not only in the Philippines, but in many cultures both ancient and modern. You may be able to see some obvious letter sigils and pictorial symbols on some cards, while others are hidden within the design.

Sigils are types of symbols traditionally used in ritual magic. The term sigil derives from the Latin sigillum, meaning “seal”, and it’s the root of many other English words such as “signature”, “sign”, and “signal”.

I’m fascinated by the simplicity and power of sigils and symbols. They’re essentially like little seeds that are planted within the subconscious mind. The symbolic nature of sigils helps you bypass the rational, skeptical, ‘thinking’ mind, to tap into your intuition and get right to the source.

A sigil pictorially represents a statement of desire or intent. What gives sigils their power is the energy and intention behind them - and that’s what helps them sprout and blossom into manifestation. Sigils can be used to help you achieve goals, co-create your reality, self-actualize your potential, and fulfill your deepest dreams and desires.
When you call on the power of a sigil, the transformation you connect with is the same power of alchemy that has worked through the ages for many others. The image is more than archetypes, more than symbols – it is a direct connection to ancient magic that has worked from centuries ago, right through the modern day. It has always worked, so it can always work.

The ritual process of using a sigil takes your desire, your decision, and your will, and amplifies them through the magical code of a sigil, impressing your intent on the fabric of the universe. The universe responds by making reality match the vision of your magical consciousness.

You actually see sigils in the world around you every day. Businesses, for example, have been using sigils for many years, in the form of their company logos. I find it really interesting that some sigils used by businesses are actually capable of influencing behavior.

In my soul journey to the Philippines, I saw quite a few of these sacred symbols in tattoos, drawings, fabrics, and artwork. I was inspired to see how sigils and symbols are used as an expression and art form that represents my homeland.

The sigils and symbols in each design have been activated with a powerful ability to communicate with you on an intuitive, subconscious level. Allow them to speak to you. My intention is for you to create your own intuitive connection with each card, to give you a clear story - whether you’re doing a reading for yourself, or for someone else. This transmission will take your readings to the next level, giving you greater clarity, insight and transformation.

Honoring My Ancestors
BAYBAYIN WRITING

I’ve also incorporated, in the Reverse position of each card, the keywords in Baybayin, the pre-colonial ancient writing script of the islands of the Philippines. Like many indigenous languages, Baybayin was suppressed during the colonization periods in the 18th and 19th centuries, almost to the point of extinction. I’ve included the Baybayin translation on the cards, as a tribute to my Filipino heritage, culture, and ancestors. You can see the translation of these symbols in the downloadable pdf Guidebook (and use it to learn how to read and write in Baybayin, if you’d like!)

Many ancient cultures around the world have rich histories and stories connected to symbols, letters and written words. And it’s not uncommon for those writing systems to have deep hidden meanings, and even magical powers. Like Baybayin, these languages were multi-layered - meaning, they could be read as words and everyday messages, but could also convey messages that were profound and sacred, or even used for divination.

INSPIRED BY TRADITION
I’ve used many types of tarot cards, including the traditional Rider Waite Smith, and you’ll see some similarities (and some differences) in these cards. Instead of the traditional pentacles, cups, wands and swords, I’ve divided them into the elements (Earth, Water, Fire, and Air), with Spirit being the major arcana.

The design I created for the back of the cards was inspired by a ceremonial malong that I wear when I do sacred rituals and ceremonies. A malong is a traditional Filipino wraparound garment used by both men and women of the numerous ethnic groups in the mainland, Mindanao and parts of the Sulu Archipelago.
